Retailsuite Solutions is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts & Finance Executive to manage day-to-day accounting and financial administration.
The role will be responsible for customer invoicing, supplier bills, payment tracking, receivables and payables, tax compliance, bank reconciliation, accounting records, and preparation of regular financial reports.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, maintaining accurate records, meeting statutory deadlines, and using accounting or ERP systems preferably Odoo.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
Record income, expenses, payments, receipts, journals, and other financial transactions.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are posted to the correct accounts.
Maintain proper supporting documentation for financial transactions.
Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
Track outstanding customer invoices and payment due dates.
Follow up with customers on overdue accounts.
Record customer payments and allocate them against the appropriate invoices.
Prepare accounts receivable ageing reports.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Record and verify supplier invoices and bills.
Maintain accounts payable records and payment schedules.
Prepare supplier payments for approval.
Reconcile supplier statements with company records.
Review expense claims and supporting documents.
Monitor company expenses and ensure proper classification.
Assist with preparation and filing of applicable tax returns.
Maintain accurate VAT records and supporting documentation.
Assist with PAYE and other applicable statutory deductions and filings.
Ensure invoices and accounting records meet applicable tax requirements.
Maintain organized records for tax reviews and audits.
Track tax and statutory filing deadlines to support timely compliance.
Record bank and mobile-money transactions.
Perform regular bank reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences.
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments.
Support cash-flow monitoring and payment planning.
Prepare periodic financial and management reports.
Assist in preparing profit and loss, balance sheet, cash-flow and other accounting reports.
Prepare receivables, payables, revenue and expense reports.
Monitor actual expenses against budgets where applicable.
Provide financial information required by management for decision-making.
Maintain organized electronic financial records.
Ensure transactions have appropriate supporting documentation and approvals.
Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls.
Support external accountants, auditors and tax advisers when required.
Identify accounting discrepancies and follow through until they are resolved.
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce or a related field.
CPA qualification or ongoing CPA studies will be an advantage.
Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Understanding of Kenyan taxation and statutory compliance.
Experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliation.
Good Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Experience using accounting software or ERP systems (preferably Odoo ERP) is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Good communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to organize work and meet financial and statutory deadlines.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Enrty Level Professionals and Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge, CPA studies, and good digital skills are encouraged to apply.
